Privacy Policy

StayScope does not collect, store on any server, or transmit any personal data. All information stays on your own device and Chrome account — never on our servers, because we don't have any.

What data StayScope reads

When you visit a supported accommodation page (Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda, VRBO, Trip.com), the extension reads the following information from the page:

GPS coordinates (latitude / longitude) of the listed property
Property name and country code
Check-in / check-out dates and displayed price (from the page URL or DOM)

This data is read from the page's publicly available DOM and embedded scripts — the same content visible to any website visitor.

Where data is stored

All data is stored exclusively in your own browser:

chrome.storage.sync — synced to your personal Google account across your own Chrome devices (subject to Chrome's 100 KB quota limit)
chrome.storage.local — stored locally on your device for larger data (price history logs)

Neither Risa Studio nor any third party has access to this data. We operate no servers, databases, or analytics services.

External requests

StayScope does not make any external network requests on its own. The only network activity is:

Opening Google Maps / Google Search tabs in your browser — initiated by you when you click a search button
Opening partner booking comparison pages — initiated by you

These are standard browser tab navigations, identical to typing a URL in the address bar.

Permissions explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab / tabs — to read the URL of your current tab and inject the coordinate-extraction script
scripting — to run the extraction script in the context of supported accommodation pages (necessary to read window globals like __NEXT_DATA__ and __APOLLO_STATE__ that contain property coordinates)
storage — to save your favorites and price history in chrome.storage.sync / chrome.storage.local
host_permissions (Airbnb, Booking.com, Agoda, VRBO, Trip.com domains) — required by Chrome to inject the extraction script on those specific domains; no data from these sites is sent anywhere

No tracking, no analytics

StayScope contains no analytics libraries, no crash-reporting services, no advertising SDKs, and no telemetry of any kind. We never know how many people use the extension or what searches they perform.

Children's privacy

StayScope does not knowingly collect any information from anyone. Because no data ever leaves your device, there is no applicable concern for users of any age.

Changes to this policy

If the privacy practices of StayScope change (for example, adding a new data source), this policy will be updated and the extension version will be incremented accordingly.
